Adjustable-Linkage Effects Of Acupuncture On Dislipidaemia And Hyperglycemia

With the rapid pace of modern life and the change of diet habits, metabolic diseases has threatened human health. Glucose and lipid metabolic disorder induced by dislipidemia and hyperglycemia play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of the metabolic diseases. Dislipidemia and hyperglycemia often developed in the same time and deteriorated with each other. At present, non drug therapy and drug therapy are two approaches applied in the prevention and treatment of dislipidemia and hyperglycemia. Acupuncture method has been widely used in treatment of dislipemia and hyperglycemia because of its curative effect with simply performance and cheap expenditure, as well as its less side effect. Base don the pathologic and physiologic changes of dislipemia and hyperglycemia, combining with syndrome differentiation and the overall concept of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), We supposed that the effects of treatment on dislipemia and hyperglycemia were associated and influenced with each other. Based on this thought, we recruited patients suffering from dislipidemia and hyperglycemia at the same time, and treated them for12weeks with acupuncture method according to syndrome differentiation of TCM. And then, we evaluated the effects of acupuncture on body mass index, blood lipids, fasting blood glucose, blood uric acid and liver fatty..Objective:Exploring the djustable linkage effect of the acupuncture on dislipidemia and hyperglycemia.Methods:48patients with dislipidemia and hyperglycemia were randomly divided into the treatment aiming at blood glucose group (BGP) and aiming at blood lipid. group (BLP) with acupuncture. The treatment methods TCM such as resolving phlegm and eliminating stasis, strengthening spleen and nourishing kidney were used for the dislipidemia, and the corresponding acupoints were Zhongwan, Guan yuan, Tianshu, Xuehai, Zusanli, Feng long, and Sanyinjiao. While, The treatment methods TCM such as supplementing qi and nourishing yin, strengthening spleen and nourishing kidney were used for Hyperglycemia, and the corresponding acupoints were pancreas Yu, kidney Yu, spleen Yu, Sanyinjiao and Zusanli. After acupuncture treatment for12weeks,2cases from BGP were droped out according to excluding criterion. The clinical investigation of All other cases were completed. The investigation items were including body mass index, blood lipid, fasting blood glucose, renal function, and blood uric acid, and severity of fatty liver assessed with the abdominal B ultrasound.Results:(1) After treatment for12weeks, the total effective rate of TCM on BLP and BGP was87.5%and86.3%, the total clinical effective rate was91.7%and86.4%, respectively.(2) The fasting plasma glucose levels of patients in two groups were all decreased significantly (P<0.01). The differentce of fasting plasma glucose levels of patients in two groups had not statistically signigicant (P>0.05).(3) The level of TC, TG, HDL, LDL in two groups was significantly improved (P<0.01, P<0.05respectively).(4) The change of the body mass index and fatty liver severity between two groups was not significant.(5) During the treatment, the difference of renal function, uric acid in two groups was not significant (P>0.05), and without any adverse effects.Conclusion:The treatment with acupuncture showed a adjustable linkage effect on disrlipidemia and hyperglycemia, which is a simple, cheap and feasible treatment methods in clinical practices.
