ObjectivesA patient satisfaction degree questionnaire is planned to be designed basing on documents, and then its content along with form would be standardized by Delphi method. The final questionnaire adaptive to present nursing care situation would be established after clinical investigations.MethodsAt first, we designed a questionnaire based on documents, professional suggestions and the requirements of nursing care quality. Then, by two turns of Delphi method, we formed the contents and mainframe of the questionnaire after modifying the factors and the items based on the expert’s opinions.and then we conducted a pre-investigation. Finally, questionnaire survey was conducted:the primary questionnaire was sent to the planned discharged patients; internal consistency, relativity and factors were analyzed; the examination of the reliability and validity was based on Cronbach a, Spearman correlation coefficient and factor analysis; and a first draft questionnaire was formed after items were optimized.Results1. The contents of the questionnaire were based on numbers of documents relating to the satisfaction of patients and the quality of nursing care. Considering present nursing care requirements and specialist advices, we developed the primary questionnaire covering5factors and30items, the factors respectively were:service and reception, routine nursing care, working capacity and attitude, health education level and ward management.2. A primary was designed taking advantage of the reliability of Delphi method. In the study,20experts from fields including hospital administration, statistics, and clinical nursing care were invited to attend2turns of consultation. The statistics showed that the overall authority was0.8892, and the rates of the callback were95%,90%respectively via the two rounds of Delphi and pre-investigation. Combining with the specialist suggestions and nursing requirements, we revised one aspect and15items. Finally, the7-point Likert-type scale questionnaire consisting of5factors and24items had been developed.3. The first draft questionnaire was formed after investigation statistical analysis. The reliability and validity were examined by internal consistency, correlation analysis, principal component analysis and factor analysis. The overall Cronbach’s a coefficient of24items was0.9693, which indicated the questionnaire displayed high internal consistency in the study. The Spearman correlation coefficients between all aspects were less than the corresponding Cronbach’s a coefficients; the Spearman correlation coefficients between each item and total score were also smaller than the total Cronbach’s a coefficient; and the Spearman correlation coefficients between each item and its aspect were higher than that with other aspect. Principal component analysis method for the23items showed that3components were extracted with the contribution rate of70.38%. By varimax rotation method, lastly the questionnaire containing3dimensions (service and nursing care, ability and consideration, guide and environment) and23items had been developed.ConclusionsThe patient satisfaction degree questionnaire of nursing care with certain reliability and validity was formed and tested to be suited for the current nursing job.
