With the fast development of virtual reality technology and modern medical, virtualreality has been widely applied in medical simulation, formed a whole new field of researchnamed virtual surgery simulation. At present, with the development of modern medical,endoscopic surgery has been widely used as its advantages of faster recovery, lesspostoperative pain, smaller wound and less sequelae. But it also has its own disadvantages,such as the difficulty with hand-eye coordination of surgeons, and for the more complicatedendoscopic surgery, the surgeons must need a long period of training before real operation.Combine virtual reality with endoscopic surgery and to develop a virtual endoscopic surgerysimulation system, can effectively solve the defects of high cost and unable-duplicating in thetraditional mode.With the virtual hysteroscopy laparoscopy surgery simulation system as the thesis’sresearch background, first develop the software part. Several key techniques in virtual surgerysystem are studied in the thesis such as collision detection, physical modeling anddeformation calculating.For the collision detection of virtual surgery, comprehensive consideration the realismand real-time requirements of virtual hysteroscopy laparoscopy surgery simulation system,combine mixed hierarchical bounding volumes with ray-tracing, propose a new algorithm ofcollision detection based on mixed hierarchical bounding volumes and ray-tracing.In soft tissue deformation simulation aspects, as for the specific needs of virtualhysteroscopy laparoscopy surgery simulation, after detailed expound the biomechanicscharacteristics of soft tissue in the uterine and abdominal cavity, choose the mixedviscoelastic model, and based on the traditional finite element model, comprehensiveconsideration the fast of linear viscoelastic and the accuracy of nonlinear viscoelastic,combine them and propose the soft tissue deformation simulation algorithm of mixedviscoelastic model based on finite element.
