Objective To investigate the expression change of Hyaluronan synthase3(HAS3) innon-small cell lung cancer tissue. Methods The mRNA expression of the three isoforms of Hyaluronan synthases(HAS1, HAS2, HAS3) in lung carcinoma tissues and para-cancerous normal lungtissues were detected with RT-PCR; the expression of HAS3in40lung carcinomatissues and22para-cancerous normal lung tissues were detected by immunehistochemishy tecneque (IHC).Results HAS2and HAS3bands, no HAS1band, were obtained from para-cancerousnormal lung tissues after semiquantitative reverse transcription PCR and agarose gelelectrophoresis. However, the bands of HAS2and HAS3, no HAS1, were obtainedfrom non-small cell lung cancer tissues. The positive rate of HAS3expression was50%(20/40) in non-small cell lung cancer tissue, which was higher than18.18%(4/22) in para-cancerous normal lung tissues (P<0.05). Expression of HAS3washigher in lung squamous cell cancinoma than that in adenocarcinoma (P<0.05).Although HAS3expression rates were negative correlation with differentiation degree, they were no significance in differentiation degree. And the expression rates of HAS3were no correlation with age, gender, smoking history, TNM stage of patients andlymphnode metastasis (P>0.05). Conclusion The expression of HAS3increase in non-small cell lung cancer tissues.Expression of HAS3was higher in sqamous cell carcinoma than that inadenocarcinoma. HAS3’s expression was no correlation with age, gender, smokinghistory, TNM stage of patients and lymphnode metastasis.
