The aim of this study is to establish the development of children’s emotional vocabulary and to analysis the use and the developmental characteristics of children’s emotional. This study provides the theoretical basis for children’s language and emotional development for parents and teacher education, and it supplements the cognitive theory of emotion.In this study, three different methods have been used to investigate the use and the trends of children’s emotional words.In study1, the free list was used to collect emotional words of Chinese children aged2-12, to establish the standard and emotional words of children, and to investigate the development level of children’s emotional words from the children’s psychological perception index (S), properties, single-word length, and so on.In study2, combined with the experimental results of study1, the story context generation method of story comprehension and expression of emotions of others was uesd to study the situation of children with emotional words (characteristic of term, point of) and the level of development.In study3, text analysis of primary language teaching materials PEP emotional words was used to establish emotional vocabulary from the emotional parts of speech (noun, verb, adjective, adverb), attributes (positive and negative), directional (others, self), emotional words establish the frequency and so on.The use of words of textbooks sentiment was analysised to explain the characteristics of research results of study1and study2, and to propose suggestions. Study for the elementary school language teaching material development of language and emotion.Comprehensive results of three studies, the main conclusions are as follows:(1)"delighted"," happy ","fear","angry" emotional words are mentioned from2-12years old.2-3years old group of children start to use simple words tag mood, the kind of3-7years old group children’s basic emotional word is gradually to be differentational and the content is to be rich,8-12years old children use deeper complex emotional words.(2) On the part of attribute of emotional words, the boy use negative emotions better than positive emotions, positive and negative emotions word does not exist differences for girls.(3) On the part of characteristic of emotional words, infancy children intend to use emotional verbs, and with enhance of language ability that elementary school children use more rich words. (4) On the part of directivity of emotional words, children use emotional word to describe itself emotions at around2years of age, and to actively describe others emotions at around3years of age.(5) Children’s label pleasant, fear, anger grades better than the surprise, aversion.(6) Primary sections children mentioned the frequency of mood word with textbooks of nomination mood word frequency are related significant.In this study, there are still unsolved issues, children nominated mood word species and label ability of other emotions appear back phenomenon between the ages of6and7. Nevertheless, this study serves as a starting point which establishs a standard thesaurus of children development and analysis emotional words’features and developmental level from different kinds of view.
