Objective:To investigate the changes of concentration of peripheral serum tumor Transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β) and interleukin-10(IL-10) in children with Respiratory syncytial virus Bronchiolitis and its clinical significance.Material and methods:The concentration of TGF-(3and IL-10were determined by double-antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosobent assay (ELISA) in the peripheral of80children with Respiratory syncytial virus Bronchiolitis as well as40healthy children who were taken as the control group.80cases of Bronchiolitis were divided into a common group and complicating heart failure group (as heart failure group) according to their clinical menifestation.Result:Before the treatment, the serum level of TGF-P in common group and heart failure group were significantly lower than that in the control group (21.77±4.47pg/ml verse53.78±4.10pg/ml,14.86±3.72pg/ml verse53.78±4.10pg/ml,p<0.05,respectively.)Before the treatment, the serum level of TGF-β in heart failure group were much lower than that in common group (14.86±3.72pg/ml verse21.77±4.47pg/ml, p<0.05) Before the treatment, the serum level of IL-10in common group and heart failure group were significantly lower than that in the control group (17.55±2.47pg/ml verse47.52±4.10pg/ml,10.80±2.72pg/ml verse47.52±4.10pg/ml,p<0.05,respectively.)Before the treatment, the serum level of IL-10in heart failure group were much lower than that in common group (10.80±2.72pg/ml verse17.55±2.47pg/ml, p<0.05)Post-treatment, the serum level of TGF-P in common group were significantly higher than that in pre-treatment(46.21±5.77pg/ml verse21.77±4.47pg/ml, p<0.05), the serum level of TGF-β in heart failure group were significantly higher than that in pre-treatment(35.68±4.03pg/ml verse14.86±3.72pg/ml, p<0.05).Post-treatment, the serum level of TGF-β in heart failure group was still lower than that in common group(35.68±4.03pg/ml verse46.21±5.77pg/ml,p<0.05).Post-treatment, the serum level of IL-10in common group were significantly higher than that in pre-treatment(30.50±2.77pg/ml verse17.55±2.47pg/ml, p<0.05), the serum level of IL-10in heart failure group were significantly higher than that in pre-treatment(21.93±3.03pg/ml verse10.80±2.72pg/ml,p<0.05).Post-treatment, the serum level of IL-10in heart failure group was still lower than that in common group(21.93±3.03pg/ml verse30.50±2.77pg/ml,p<0.05).Conclusions:The serum levels of TGF-β and IL-10were obviously lower in children with Respiratory syncytial virus Bronchiolitis, especially in complicating heart failure.During the convalescence stage, the serum levels of TGF-β and IL-10have been upgraded obviously, but the levels in heart failure group was still lower than that in common group.TGF-β and IL-10may play an important role in the development of Bronchiolitis. The serum levels of TGF-β and IL-10were good index to reflect the pathogenetic condition of Bronchiolitis.
