Chinese Medicine, as a health care system, has gradually gained more and more attention by media from all over the world. This dissertation investigates what topics are frequently included in the News Mentioning Chinese Medicine in order to find foreigners’interests in Chinese Medicine and the overseas development of Chinese Medicine. Corpus investigation techniques are used with a corpus comprising all media coverage mentioning Chinese Medicine before the year2012from the Major World English Publications in on-line Nexis news media archive. The corpus has more than11million tokens and Wordsmith Tool5.0has been used as a main analysis tool.Corpus linguistics based on large quantities of authentic text makes it possible for researchers to handle quantitative data. Its incorporation in critical discourse analysis could develop a systematic and objective form of analysis. This study employs corpus-based critical discourse analysis to conduct a social survey on Chinese Medicine mainly by analyzing the Keywords and Key Keywords. Main findings from the analysis include:1Chinese Medicine has received more and more attention from world media during the past two decades.2Endangered animal ingredients in Chinese Medicine bring worldwide controversy and concern among the public.3Acupuncture has always been the most popular therapy of Chinese Medicine in the world, but its efficacy remains a matter of debate.
