Objective The study was to investigate the current status of clinical practice amongclinical nursing postgraduate students and to construct the Clinical Practice Patternsfor Geriatric Nursing Master’s Graduate With Professional Degree with a variety ofresearch methods, in order to provide objective reference for medical universitiestrain and educate Geriatric Nursing Master’s Graduate With Professional Degree,toprovide reference for training program of nursing master’s graduate with professionaldegree,and to promote the developing of nursing postgraduate in China.Objects of Study Select east, central, north, northwest, and northeast regions of48clinical nursing postgraduates from8universities as respondents. According toexperts selection criteria, the research team repeated discussions, should pay attentionto geographical distribution and proportion of experts at all levels, and ultimatelyselect34nursing experts. They involve national clinical care, nursing education,medical education, nursing management, nursing research of5areas, throughout thecountry16provinces/municipalities, involving30medical universities andthird-grade class-A hospitals.Methods1.To investigate the current status of clinical practice among clinicalnursing postgraduate students by questionnaire survey.2.Theoretical analysis method, document research and etc. are used to get thetheoretical basis and principles for clinical practice patterns for geriatric nursingmaster’s graduate with professional degree and draft initial system.3.Delphi method is used to construct index system. 4.Proportioning Method is adopted to construct the weights the importance of theevaluation index system.5. Excel and SPSS software are used to analyze and process the date.Results1.Clinical practice time of postgraduates in the same enrollment startingpoint and research direction is quite different. Part of postgraduates consider that theexamination of practice is too rigid. Nursing education and management are workintentions of more than60%of clinical care direction clinical nursing postgraduatestudents.2.Experts have better representation, the higher level of expert knowledge structure,rich professional experience in the field.64.7%of them have master’s degree orabove. Familiarity and judgment based on to evaluate of experts’ authority. This studyexperts’ coefficient is0.89. Therefore, the expert prediction is based on practicalexperience and theoretical basis, and has high reliability. Two rounds of expertconsultation recoveries were88%and97%, indicating that experts have highlymotivated and the care and support of experts in the study. The indicator of centraltendency is increasingly clear, the coefficient of variation tends to decrease, andcoordination coefficient tends to increase, indicating that experts have higher degreeof coordination.3.Construction on the clinical practice patterns for geriatric nursing master’s graduatewith professional degree.Using Likert-type scale5point scoring system, from "veryimportant" to "not important" corresponds to5to1point respectively. According tothe screening criteria(each index mean≥3.5, out of more than≥0.20, coefficient ofvariation≤0.25, and combined with the opinions of experts, screening and changingindicators, after two rounds of consultation, initial construction on the clinicalpractice patterns for geriatric nursing master’s graduate with professional degree,which contains6first-1evel factors,45second-1evel items and64third-1evel items. 4. Determined the indicators’ weights of clinical practice patterns for geriatric nursingmaster’s graduate with professional degree.After the second round of the Delphiprocedure, based on the experts’ scoring for each item, using the proportionaldistribution method to determine the indicators’ weights, using the principles ofprobability multiplication to compute the combined weights, the weights of theone-grade items are:0.1785、0.1658、0.1584、0.1742、0.1658、0.1573.Conclusion China need to establish a scientific, rational, standardized, systematicclinical practice patterns, need to make up for the lack of no uniform pattern ofclinical teaching, to enhance clinical ability of postgraduate, stable care team to meetthe clinical nursing care of high-level talent needs. On the basis of thecompetency-based education theory/practice mode theory, through a combination ofquantitative and qualitative, this study build a scientific and systematic clinicalpractice patterns for geriatric nursing master’s graduate with professional degree, toprovide reference for nursing education experts, care management experts, higherinstitutions and hospital managers and to promote the developing of nursingpostgraduate in China.
