| To evaluate the clinical and radiographic results of cementless total hip arthroplasty (THA) in patients with developmental dislocation of the hip (DDH), Studies of its efficacy, complications and its influencing factors.MethodsFrom June2010to June2011,28Patients(30hip)with development dislocation of the hip were treated with the cementless THA. They were3males and25females with the average age of42years (ranging from27years to55years). According to the classification of Crowe,7cases were type I,16cases were typeâ…¡,3cases were typellland2cases were typelV. All the patients complained about hip pain, shortening of the diseased limbs, deformity with limited activities, a history of joint pain froml6to200months, an average of108months. Preoperative Harris hip score is from28to50points (an average of45.2+2.3points).26patients underwent unilateral THA and2patients underwent bilateral THA. Clinical and radiographic results were evaluated. Clinical outcomes were evaluated according to Harris score, function and contentment rate.ResultsThe average Harris score improved from45.2to91.2and the contentment rate was100%. The average length of the hips with femoral shortening osteotomy was lengthened2.0to2.5cm. The limb difference of two Crowe IV patients is1.0cm. One patient with postoperative femoral never palsy completely recovered after supportive treatment. No radiographic loosening and revision arises. Those patients were been done hip joint function evaluation and X-ray film in1weekã€3months,ã€6months,1year examination respectivelyConclusionThe cementless THA is an effective and safe method in the treatment of the DDH which can significant improvement with motor dysfunction and eliminate joint pain. The release of the soft tissues reconstruction of the acetabulum and the proximal femur structure is the most important part of the progress. Because of short follow-up time the wear rate of the prosthesis need more further research. Release relegation... |
