Objective: To investigate biological effects of proteasome subunit LMP-2,survivin and caspase-3in the pathogenesis of missed abortion by studying thecharacteristics and relationship of proteasome subunit LMP-2, survivin and caspase-3inthe placental villi and chorion of missed abortion. Methods:Thirty missed abortion patients were allocated as study group, andthirty with normal pregnancy as controls. Immunohistochemical method was used todetect the expressions of proteasome subunit LMP-2, survivin and caspase-3in theplacental villi and chorion of the two groups. Correlation analysis was made amongthose indexes. Results:Compared with that of the controls, the expression of LMP-2andsurvivin in the study group were significantly lower, while the expression of caspase-3was higher (P<0.05). In the study group, the caspase-3expression was negativelycorrelated with the expression of LMP-2and survivin respectively, and the expressionof LMP-2was found to be positively correlated with surviving (P<0.05).Conclusion:The abnormal expression and relevance of LMP-2, survivin andcaspase-3play an important role in missed abortion.
