Tu minority is one of the most unique ethnic minorities who only lives in Qing-Haiprovince located at west of China. The embroidery art works designed andmanufactured by Tu people are distinguished for their beautiful color, special structureand abundant culture. However, like most of the ethnic tradition, Tu’s embroidery artsand techniques are threatened by modern society. For now, there is just a few researchesand protective studies are carried out to save the endangered tradition of Tu’sembroidery.In this paper, three issues are brought out to be studied, which are the protectivecollection and organization of Tu’s traditional embroidery culture, the aesthetic analysisand characteristic study of Tu’s traditional embroidery techniques and the reproductionand development of Tu’s traditional embroidery arts in modern society.Aimed to the collection and organization of Tu’s traditional embroidery culture, theTu’s traditional embroidery arts in their costumes, daily lives and religious life aredetailed discussed by the author. Followed by the aesthetic analysis and characteristicstudy of Tu’s traditional embroidery techniques, the fielded investigation is carried outto discover the existing Tu’s traditional embroidery arts. With the understanding ofcurrent development and reproduction of Tu’s traditional embroidery, several passibleways to save and apply the traditional art are raised in the end.
