Di Qing is a famous general in Northern Song Renzong Dynasty. He was born in apeasant family. He joined the army when he was25years old, and then became ansoldier in the army. At that time, the regime was controlled by Northern Song Dynastyand some other minorities together. The war broke out between them sometimes. DiQing guarded in the Western Xia more than ten years, joined in combat many times,and received a lot of military medals, Then he became a vice senator messengerbecause of one military medal. And then he led his army against Nong Chi Rebellion.He was promoted exceptionally by Renzong and became a senator messenger in PrivyCouncil. At that time, Northern Song court pursued the policy that protecting inside ofthe country, relaxing outside of the country, and focusing on literary, slighting martial.Di Qing felt very glory, because he was Warrior, but he also was a senator messenger.This thing was also very dangerous for him.Di Qing fight for country in a half of his life, received a lot of military medals, andthose made him be a Myth from a soldier to a general. Although many peoplemistrusted him, his life was brilliant. Di Qing experience is a microcosm of the life ofthe generals in Northern Song dynasty. The main clues of Chapter one is Di Qing’sorigin and his experience in the Western Xia. In this chapter, we will analyze thereasons that Di Qing started his life in army. Chapter two will describe National regime,Di Qing’s outstanding performance and Renzong ’s trust both reflect that Di Qing’sindispensable position in the court. Chapter three will have an overview of the policyin Northern Song Dynasty, and the origins of Di Qing’s tragic fate.
