According to the Cognitive-behavioral Model of social anxiety put forward by Rapee andHeimberg, cognition plays an important role in the development and maintenance of social anxiety. Most of the studies focused on the three main cognitive process components, attention, memoryand interpretation and variety research paradigms were further advanced to explore the cognitiveprocessing characteristic of the social anxiety individuals. As the core character of social anxiety,FE has great impact on the prediction and clinic intervention of social anxiety. The former studiesof FE were limited to the FNE and laid its stress on the attention bias of the FNE individuals. However, the cognition process bias of the FPE individuals, the memory and interpretation bias ofthe FE individuals are far from complete and require further research. This study aims to analyzethe mechanism how FE individuals develops and maintains from the perspective of cognitionprocess. It can further predict and limit harmful effects which brought forward by FE on theinterpersonal communication and provide advice for people to handle FE.On the basis of the research paradigm of social anxiety cognition processing bias, this studydivided120undergraduates into four groups as high and low FPE, high and low FNE and exploredwhether the cognition process bias exists with Stroop task, vision transfer task and recognition taskand interpretation task. The main conclusions are as follows:(1) The first study indicates that nosignificant difference could be found between high and low FPE and FNE on the response time onthree kinds of stimulus; the high FE pay more attention to negative stimulus when compared withthe low ones;(2) In comparison with the neutral stimulus, all of the participants have preference foremotional stimulus (e.g. positive and negative) and can recognize more in the recognition task;high fear of evaluation individuals have a significant memory bias on negative stimulus. The resultconfirms that memory bias could be found in the high fear of evaluation individuals to a certainextent;(3) In the Ambiguous Sentences Interpretive Task, all fear of evaluation individuals areinclined to interpret the ambiguous sentences from the positive perspective; Moreover, the highones easily come to negative interpretation when compared with the low ones. The result indicatesthat there exists a negative interpretation bias in the high fear of evaluation individuals.
