Guizi, one of the Guangxi Three Musketeers, is also a focused writer in Chinese Contemporary Literature history. Based on researching the absurdity of Guzi’s works, this text analyzes his novels to review the tough and absurd state of existence of all his protagonists, through which to reveal the unique ideological content and literary value. By describing those nobodies how to be discarded, how to survive in the awkward situation and how to pursue their ideal vainly and confusedly, Guzi demonstrates vividly people’s embarrassing existence and absurd reality and lay out the hardship state and incredible circumstances.Second, the ways to present the absurdity:The charm of Guzi’s novels is mainly reflected in expressing artistically the absurdity. He is good at setting weird and puzzled storyline to present the absurdity, and also relaying on coincident event to promote the story, even bringing the characters’ life to an incredibly absurd destiny. Meanwhile, there usually has a transition from reality to illusion in his novels to express the concern on the irrational daily life, and through defamiliarizing method to demonstrate the absurdity of the whole society.Last, the reason toward absurdity:This article will combine the researches on Guzi’s life experience, cultural impact in his time and the effect of postmodern thoughts and so on, to discuss why his works become so absurd.
