Ryu Murakami (1953--), a famous writer in Japan. He is a productive writer, covers a wide range of topic and gains great achievement in literary creations. There are series of characters marginalized and being antipathetic to the maintain society delineated in his works. By using such as rights-talk and discipline institutions theories, focusing on the marginal characters Ryu Murakami delineated, this paper explores the deeper problems leading them to become the marginalized men and their salient characteristics, reveals the positive significances concerning on them from the writer’s view. The paper is divided into three parts:Part one is the introduction. It introduces Ryu Murakami also with his work, analyzes the research status of his novels and the significance of this paper, defines the Marginal men.Part two is the text. The Marginal characters Ryu Murakami delineated are divided in four aspects. First describes the strays in culture shock heading for verge, who were the "other "status compared with the strong side under the Japan and American culture shock or the upper and Lower class of social conflict. Second, the characters lost voice under the power discourse in a weak position in their group head for verge because of their right words deprived. They were anxious about their situation. Third, the outsiders under the institutions of discipline head for verge with strong resistance and displeasure to the current disciplines. Fourth, the seekers of dreamlike nation who refused be assimilated by the drifting, muddling and blander society persisted in pursuing the hopeful life pattern.They could not be understood by people and became the marginal men. The hope they pursued is characterized by strong personality.Part three is the conclusion. The paper is to make people heard the dissonance voices and cause people think and doubt about the society culture structures by analyzing the marginal characters Ryu Murakami delineated. Therefore, the attention Ryu Murakami paid to the marginal characters has positive and deeply realistic significance.
