This dissertation aims to point out the origin of King Philip’s War from the perspective of Constructivism, avoiding the traditional historical view that this war belongs directly to the scope of American domestic affairs. The dissertation uses three research approaches. Firstly, it applies the traditional historical approach involving the domestic and foreign literature retrieval. Secondly, it establishes the main framework by reference of Alexander Wendt’s Constructivism, regarding the ethnic conflict as the main clue, the culture, the power and the intersubjective interaction as three logical branches. In addition, the author uses the conception of Ethnic Group referring to the theory of Anthropology. The innovation of this dissertation is that the author brings forward a new view: it was the general structure of the interethnic system in New England composed of two ethnic groups which were named the American Aboriginals and WASP that constructed King Philip’s War. There were three levels in the general structure of the interethnic system:the social or cultural construction, the material construction or power, and the intersubjective interaction.
