The United States Disney’s long animated films withone and a half hours or two hours long have gradually been overshadowed bythe concise animated short film.The perfect combination of the Montage technology applied in lengthyfilms with animated short films makes more and more excellent animated shortfilms endlessly present in audiences. In animated short film, how to apply theMontage technology that was born in the lengthy film and television works? It isthe starting point of this paper to analyze and research.Firstly, this paper researches and compares the artistic characteristicsbetween the scene films and the animated films, and the art characteristics oflong and short animated films. This paper has analyzed the Montage technology ofapplying in animated short films, and according to the applying frequency, theMontage technology applied in animated short films will be divided into threetypes: multi—use Montage, common use Montage and rejected use Montage. This paper has made the theoretical results of research and analysis toapply into practices and produced two animated short films:"company" and"legend of the blue and white porcelain". The company is the animated shortfilm of revealing the human endless desires, from the angle of expressing humanthirst for partners, as well as fearing the different partners, it caused the thinkingthat the desires for humans is good or harm. The "legend of the blue and whiteporcelain" is a popular science film with storylines, it tells of the story: a youngman Xiao-bao is passionately in love with a girl Qing-hua, they live togetherand study how to make the blue and white porcelain, thereby it has introducedthe birth, making process and application range of the blue and white porcelain.In the two animated short films, author uses Montage technology to design thescenario, give the vivid atmosphere, compare the effect, and complete theproduction. The two animated short films are the application of the author’stheory research achievements, they are the crystallization of the author’slearning experiences.
