During the70years from1790to1860, a market revolution was ignited in America with thedevelopment of industry, the improvement of transportation and communication conditions, the expansionof the market economy population and the growth of other market economy conditions. In the tide of themarket revolution, farmers in the northern United States finally accepted the market economy with neweconomic opportunities after weighing the advantages and disadvantages, and made new economic choices.The northeast region was at the center of the market revolution, so the local farmers had moreeconomic choices. A part of the people chose to engage in commercial agriculture production. And with thedevelopment of the united domestic market, they started to focus on the business of dairy products, eggsproducts, vegetables and fruit products; A part of the people began to break away from agriculturalproduction and turned to industry, commerce, service industry and other non-agricultural fields. Otherswere moving to the west hoping that they could continue to be engaged in agriculture on the western fertileland. They involved themselves in the westward movement of the eastern Americans along the Atlanticcoast and made an important contribution for the western development.The new immigration area in the Old Northwest was on the edge of market revolution. Influenced bythe market revolution, the local farmers also had the new economic choice. After the independence of theUnited States, the mass migrants from east led to the fast development of the Old Northwest. After thenortheast agricultural product market began to open up to the Old Northwest with the development ofregional transportation, farmers in the Old Northwest gradually turned to commercial agriculture production dealing in the food products and livestock products of regional advantages. This region soonbecame the commodity grain and livestock base in the United States.
