The teacher and students’ relationship of College English has great influenceson the teaching effects. The inform of College English has paid more and moreattention to the students’ subjective role in learning. The traditional College Englishteaching still is teacher centered. It features as teacher solo speaking, inculcateknowledge,so the students are always passive in the process,they are weak in theintegrative language skills as well as communicative skills.This paper is based on Social Constructivism,Humanism Teaching Theoryand Post Modern View of Power and employs a range of research methods includingliterature reviews, field survey method, questionnaire surveys and interviews toanalyze how to transform the teacher and students relationship. This paper mainlytalks about the teacher and students relationship in traditional classroom andadvanced classroom, the reason why the Teacher Talk dominance has existed as wellas how to adjust the teacher and students’ relationship in College English classroom.At the end of the paper it is about the strategies of adjusting the relationship ofteacher and students in classroom of College English. It is of great significance forimproving the efficiency of curriculum implementation of college English andadvancing the curriculum reform of college English.This paper is divided into five chapters:Chapter one: make a brief introduction to the underlying reason to choose thetheme and definitions of key concepts, as well as the theoretical foundation,literature reviews, research approaches, purpose and significance of this paper.Chapter two: Empirical Research about the quantity of Teacher Talk, thesentence structure of Teacher Talk as well as the contents and functions of TeacherTalk.Chapter three: the reason of the teacher-talk dominance in college Englishclassroom. It is analysed in two aspects. One is from system and the other is from Epistemology. It also includes the effects of the teacher-talk dominance.Chapter four: the strategies of adjusting teacher and students relationship byteachers, students, parents as well as teaching evaluation….. Teachers should adopt“students centered” idea apart from the strategies of second language acquisition,students ought to improve the awareness of subjective role, and the self-developmentof the students should be paid attention to.Chapter five: draw a conclusion.
