Krashen’s Monitor Theory (also called Monitor Model or Input Hypothesis) has enjoyed great popularity at its emergence, this theory is well accepted theory of second language research and teaching since the1980s. It provides a comprehensive theory on second language acquisition, which includes acquisition-learning hypothesis, natural order hypothesis, monitor hypothesis, input hypothesis and affective filter hypothesis however it has also been doubted and attacked by many scholars and researchers on the aspect of whether it is scientific, systematic and mature, it has also been criticized on the aspect of its untestableness. Therefore the paper will be developed through the conflict and try to give a conclusion based on my own research.I begin this paper with the theoretical background of Krashen’s Monitor Theory. Then the writer’s interpretation about the hypothesis is presented.According to Krashen’s hypothesis, when appropriate, adequate and comprehensible input is presented, acquisition is natural and inevitable, Krashen also states that humans acquire language in only one way-by understanding messages, or by receiving comprehensible input, but what kind of input is comprehensible, appropriate and adequate? In the paper the writer tries to test out these factors by interviewing some foreign students and questionnaire survey from students of Yunyang teachers’school, then I try to give a conclusion based on the result of the survey.Last but not least, I try to give some suggestions and teaching principle according to the combination of my survey and Krashen’s hypothesis.
