The fractal is the geometry in nature, and has a wide variety of fractal images, this paper isactually a fractal images drawn by decorative patterns. Decorative pattern has a pivotal role inhuman life, and it is the crystallization of human wisdom. With the development of humansociety, decorative pattern design method and design concept become diversified andinnovational. The main trend of pattern design in the 21st century focuses on the immaterial andsurreal design concept, which pays attention to transcend ethnic differences characteristics ofculture and the artistry and spirituality of the design. Based on the computer technology, fractalgraphs would maximize the the advanced design idea since its generation by formula.Due to its power system which can simulate life growth process to some extent , cellularautomaton evolves with diversity and randomness, which can generate a large number ofmorphological characteristics. This paper analyzes the data collected in the experiment on theevolution of cellular automaton by controlling parameter. Based on these forms, by designing ofappropriate cell sizes and cell shapes, and adding a different color schemes to generate richconformation, wonderful color, but the visual effect of the decorative patterns is the humanabilities that cannot be achieved alone.This paper can be roughly divided into the following two steps, the first step is to identifyrich forms of configuration diagrams, which generated in the process of the evolution ofcellular automata, and the second step is about the configuration diagrams into availabledecorative patterns. According to the actual course of action, the specific contents of the studyare as follows:(1) Configuration diagrams generated based on cellular automataOn the basis of a certain number of reference papers, and the drawing method of fractalimages based on cellular automata. Master the appropriate evolutionary algorithm based onelementary cellular automaton, two-dimensional cellular automata, extracted from thecorresponding evolution rules, and through a study on the evolution of rules, in order to achieveconfiguration diagrams generated by elementary cellular automaton and two-dimensionalcellular automaton.(2) Cell of different shapes and sizes, different color on the configuration diagrams toshow the effect of impactResearch on elementary cellular automata and two-dimensional cellular automataconfiguration diagrams drawing method, we can refine controllable parameters. Differentparameters corresponding to the apparent effect of the configuration diagrams are not the same.(3) Configuration diagrams based on cellular automata, and thus generate decorative patternsThe users through the operation of the refined parameters,can control the size ofconfiguration diagrams,the size of the cell ,the shape of the cell, and the color etc. of differentparameters to control. Even the same scale and the same evolution rule of CA configurationdiagrams, in different cellular shapes, different cellular automaton sizes, different color, willbring decorative patterns different feelings to the person. And the decorative patterns, we cannot predict beyond our imagination.(4) Record the generation process of cellular automata configuration diagrams and theirdecorative patternsSelect the rich forms of configuration diagrams as the templates, and save the templates.Decorative patterns, are extremely sensitive to the controllable parameters, the correspondingparameters are changed, the relative configuration diagrams will have been dramatic changed.In order to prevent these practical configuration diagram "fleeting”, cellular automata uses SQLServer database to record the process of drawing, implements the reproducibility of thedecorative patterns; and achieves a function that can directly save the decorative patterns in thecorresponding position (if you can save the specified file to the desktop folder). Achievedfurther management and maintenance of the configuration diagrams, so that it can reuse thedesign process.This article plays the randomness of the evolution and diversity of cellular automata, cangenerates a variety of configuration diagrams, picks out beautiful fractal images, to modifyparameters such as their color, cell sizes, cell shapes and so on, in order to meet the needs ofpeople’s lives. These decorative patterns can be used such as tapestries, carpets, and the shapepatterns, all have a certain practicality, and have broad prospects for development.
