However, Mencius mainly using celebration poetry, Xun Zi preferusing negative poetry, of the different come from Mencius’s and Xun Zi‘s poetic concept.Mencius concepts are about the relationship between history and poetry ,the poetsreading ways; Xunzi concepts are about the status of Book of Odes, the educationalfunction of Book of Odes, the relationship between the Book of Odes r、ritual and music.One of the reason is the difference times lived by Mencius and Xun Zi, Confucianismin whose political environment has changed. Confucianism is produced in the Spring andAutumn Period, the political environment is relatively stable, the national rule is relativelystable as well. To the annexation period of the Qin,unified the situation is irreversible,military conquests is irresistible. The another reason is the big difference thoughts betweenMencius and Xunzi, for example,Mencius advocated people are basically good, Xunziadvocated human nature is evil; Mencius advocated the ancient kings, Xunzi advocatedmodern King; Mencius advocated benevolent political, Xunzi advocated the rule of ritualand law.
