The Study Of The Formalizing Rhetoric On Pragmatic And Cognitive

At present, in the rhetoric research fields, when people study the figures of speech, they usually focus on the significance of the figures, and ignore the form of it. But in the process of using these figures, we find that the Figures produce some kinds of expression effects not only because of the meaning of the words. Sometimes, although the collocation of words is not new idea, when they are combined in a specific form, they can also produce some special express effects. To find out the reason that why the form can strengthen the expressing effect, and there are any linguistics theories, we decide to study the particular form figures which have the special form. Combining with related principles of the pragmatic and the cognitive linguistics, we will study some figures which are special and representative on the structure, including repetition, parallelism, Antithesis, climax, anadiplosis, regression. By the further research and analysis, on one hand, we can replenish something that didn’t involve in the field of the rhetoric or the research about the field is not strength enough, on the other hand, to study of the rhetoric as an example, we can try to connect the rhetoric with the other subjects, especially the other kinds of new science of language, we believe that the interdisciplinary theoretical exploration can help us to explore the new study direction of the rhetoric. This paper involves the theories in the pragmatic and the cognitive linguistics including Mprinciple, Iconicity theory, Gestalt, Category, the shift of the focus of the Conversation, the figure-ground theory. Through analysing and discussing some typical examples, We get the following conclusions:the figures which are special on the structure through the abide by Mprinciple and the relevant standards, or going against them,can get various special express effects; lconicity theory can explain why the figures are special on the structure; How we use some theory like Gestalt,Category, the shift of the focus of the conversation to explain the phenomenon of context cohesion. We can find that these theories mentioned In this paper have inherent connection, also the different subjects. In order to break the limitations of the rhetoric study, we must find new ideas and methods, we think combine the rhetoric with other subjects will be of great help to us.
