The Mongolia-Yuan Dynasty is an important stage in the history of the development of the Khitan ethnic. At that time, the Mongolian had rised and began to attack Jin Dynasty. Many Khitan people could not endure the oppression from Jin Dynasty; they surrendered themselves to the Mongolia and became the allies of the Mongolian. The Khitan people played an important role on the establishing of Mongolia-Yuan Dynasty. But, with the establishment of Yuan Dynasty, many Khitan people were crowded out of the center of the government. Yelv Chucai’s family had in common with these Khitan people, they added to the regime of Mongolia in the time of war between Mongolia and Jin Dynasty, and gradually fades out in the politics of Yuan Dynasty. The different was that Yelv Chucai’s family were deeply impacted by Chinese culture, they had different opinions on the Mongolia from the other Khitan people. The two brothers of Chucai swore to be loyal to Jin, and never surrendered to Mongolia. On the other hand, Yelv Chucai acknowledged the authority of the Mongolian, and served the new regime. Yelv Chucai had the ideas that the non-Chinese and the Chinese should be an organic whole, which inherited the Big Chinese concept of the united Han and Khitan formed during the Liao dynasty. This article discusses the activity of the family members during Mongolia-Yuan Dynasty.This article includes five parts, they are the preface, the conclusion and three chapters. The preface introduces the starting point and the research achievements of this paper.The first chapter introduces the general situation of the family, including the ancestors and Yelv Chucai’s father, two brothers and the brother’s family. Then recommends the Chucai’s family, which mainly includes Chucai, Yelv Zhu, Yelv Xiliang,Yelv Xiyi and so on. The last part of this chapter introduces the other members of this family appeared in the collected works of Yelv Chucai and Yelv Zhu. The second chapter contains the official position, the marriage of this family and the relationship of Yelv Zhu. The third chapter discusses the political tendencies and the national viewpoint of this family. They insisted the non-Chinese and the Chinese should be an organic whole. They payed less attention to the fate of Khtian, they should have tried their best to unite the Khtian. But they chose to fit in the Chinese culture, which played a role in promoting the demise of the Khitan culture.
