The Saving Activities Of The Guangxi’s Religious During The War Of Resistance Against Japan

China is a multi-ethnic country, and is also diversified in religious beliefs, such as Buddhism, Taoism, Islam, Christianity, and Catholicism and so on, with a number of congregations respectively. The religious culture and the religious life has been one of the concerns of the government and the people since time immemorial. Similarly, social care and social services are the main religion social function. Especially in the face of catastrophic disaster, religious figures and other people work hand in hand to save lives and to tide over the crisis, which reflects the religious social care. There is always been religious figures’ participation in the human relief history, and account for a certain proportion. These kind of religious social service activities in a certain extent even play the role of government departments of civil affairs, or as an important supplement.The Chinese nation after a major catastrophe in the1930s and1940s, facing the situation of country perishes and national peril, including religionists, all members of the community had put into to the war, reflecting the national unity and the cohesion of the Chinese nation. There are lots of research results about the war, but fewer achievements that the great significances of religionists in the war, which does not favor the whole national religious work development and study.This paper, take the Guangxi religious as research object, based on the relative activities of Buddhism, Islam, Christianity and Catholicism, makes an exploration into the Guangxi religious social services activities in wartime. In the wartime, facing the national peril, the Guangxi religious had carried forward the tradition of patriotism, and had devoted in national salvation, not limited themselves to religious belief, political background, ethnic group, which made great contribution to the final victory of the Guangxi war, with praying for the dead, providing shelter for wounded, refugees, victims and orphans, delivering materiel, donations, organization, propaganda and other social succor. In this article, based on the relative documents and archives, I attempted to do a whole research on the activities of the Guangxi religious in the war to give the representation of the Guangxi religious’process of "go out of the secularity" and "go into the secularity", supporting and cooperating with the community positively in the social salvation.This year marks the75anniversary of the war, thereby based on the historical data collection, collation and analysis, understanding and recognizing the activities of the Guangxi religious in the war, so as to enrich the Guangxi war culture, at the same time, to learn the predecessors’deeds and to promote fine traditional culture.
