Modern Chinese there are lots of two-syllable words which contains "yi","X yi" such as "ke yi","suo yi,""jie yi" and so on, and "X yi" such as "yi wei","yi ji","yi mian" and so on, portion of these words are included by "Modern Chinese Dictionary", portion of the others have been treated as words, but have not yet been included by "Modern Chinese Dictionary", meanwhile a part of the similar structure is ambiguous, they are on the way to be words. These words from structure to function, there are similarities and differences, this article will research these words, analysis the process of the lexicalization, explore its incentives and internal mechanism. This article contains the following sections:The first part is introduction, introduced the object and its significance of the study, reviewed the domestic and foreign related study, introduced my method and innovation.The second part is the main part of the article, this part included four chapters, the fist chapter introduces the original meaning of "yi", the second chapter describes the transformation from content words to function words, because the syntactic position of "yi" has been changed, so the meaning of verb "yi" disappeared. Meanwhile the using of preposition "yi" appeared. Because the object always be placed in front of "yi" or be omitted, so "yi" into floating state, transforming from preposition to conjunctions. The third chapter describes the lexicalization of "X yi" and the forth chapter describes the lexicalization of "yi X", and summarize the motivation and internal mechanism.The third part is the fifth chapter, summarize the whole article.in this part, we talk about the distinction and connection of the lexicalization and grammaticalization.
