French-Czech-born writer, Milan Kundera, set off one after another "Kundera Boom" since the late-1980s when his works entered to the Chinese Mainland. His representative works are "Joke","Life Is Elsewhere ","The Farewell Waltz","The Book of Laughter and Forgetting,"The Unbearable Lightness of Being "and" Immortality ", as well as the short stories" Laughable loves "."Slowness","Identity" and "Ignorance" are relatively new three novels written by Kundera. Among them,"Identity" which was completed in1996and published in France in1998, published in2003by the Shanghai Translation Publishing House. It is different from the works those written in Czech. Kundera changed his grand, heavy style and the novel tells a story about a pair of lovers, so the fiction is dapper. In the novel, the heroine and hero love each other and lived together for years. Their life is very calm and happy. Because of the love they can ignore the boring and the meaningless in life, so they can fight against the things they do not like in their life, which makes their lives meaningful. At the same time, the heroine has other multiple identities include her lover identity. This led to her lover identity threatened and uncertain. She longed to have her lover identity only without having to wander in a variety of identities, but the reality is that she can not get what she wants, which is her ethical dilemma. The situation is more serious after the "anonymous letter event" and the heroine even once lost his lover identity. Due to the manipulation of free will, a series of confusion appears, however, through the efforts of the two people, the heroine regain her lover identity and become the ethical awareness againDreams play a very important role in the development process of the whole story. In the novel, the heroes often find that they are in dreams, and readers therefore will confuse and don’t know what they read is a dream or reality。Through that, Kundera makes hero’s multiplicity identities present in the same context. It is this narrative that makes the fiction have deeper ethical connotation. In this paper, we use a method of ethical literary criticism, and start with the "identity", then we will analysis and interpretation the novel. My paper is divided into three chapters; the first chapter is the ethical dilemma of the heroine, chapter II discusses the heroine’s ethics identity transformation caused by the "anonymous letter events". In the process development of the whole story, the author’s narrative is extremely important, thanks for Kundera’s excellent application of the dream, the whole novel can be able to be a matter of course. In dreams, the hero and heroine wander in different identities; therefore, this narrative of the novel is also very important for us to use the methods of ethical literary criticism to interpret the fiction. The third chapter of the paper will discuss this point.
