God Road From Human To Divine

Sophocles lived in an era in which the system of ancient Greece mythology went collapse and peoples’self-awareness became stronger and surpassed the Awakening of Homer times. And from that time on, ancient Greek began to reevaluate the relationship between man and the God. The distinctiveness of Sophocles was that he denied the solid god with the premise that people posses the ability of rational thinking. Divinity was a part of humanity. He realized the limitation of the rational thinking of man and proposed that man should ponder over the unknown fields in awe. The trait that surpassed divinity was called Super Divinity for short and which was superior to divinity. Divinity was superior to humanity. For this reason, the continuous conflicts and the pursuing of the perfect appeared. We named these behaviors Divinity Pursue. Sophocles’thoughts was based on the affirmative of humans’abilities, denied the solid god. Humanity, Divinity and Super Divinity formed a constantly evolving concentric circle structure with the two ways of god pursuing to form a full system. The heroes abandon of humans’selfishness, necrophobia, ignorance and illiberality to after love, justice, knowledge and freedom. The hardship of god pursuing reflected the charming of ancient Greece tragic and settled the foundation of irreligion, anti-fatalism and anti-human centralism. It’s a good remedy to cure the absence of belief and doomsday panic of the people here and now.This paper is composed by six parts. Part I, introduction, made a brief summary about the research results, both in home and abroad. Part II, talked about the formation of Sophocles’thoughts on divinity affected by Protagoras’thoughts, Socrates’and Plato’s divinity and rationality. Part III, two ways to achieve divinity:the suffering from man to God, the calmness from divinity to super divinity. The fourth part described the features, embodiments, purpose and rational thinking toward divinity. The individuality and the willingness to go after God was fully described in Sophocles’tragic peoples’divinity pursue. Part V, the inspiration meanings toward anti-religion, anti-fatalism, anti-humanity were revealed through the analysis of the universal meaning about division and negation on man and God. Part VI, summarize and reiterated the theme.
