Gong Dingzi was an important scholar that had been called "Three Masters inSouthern Changjiang Area" with Wu Weiye, Qian Qianyi also in the late Ming and earlyQing dynasty. Gong Dingzi had a high reputation in the literary circle in the early Qingdynasty. He made accomplishments in poetry, Ci-poetry and prose, and he had ledliterati in the beginning of Kang Xi age. His lyrics works was called "Ding Shan TangShi Yu", which always been paid more attention to by lyrics scholars. This paper consistof three part: preface, the main part and the remaining conclusion. In preface, there is anoverview on the significance of selecting this topic and its theme. The main part isdivided into four parts:The first part provides an overview of Gong Dingzi and his lyrics works which wascalled "Ding Shan Tang Shi Yu". Gong Dingzi was an intelligent and aspiring youngman, but his life track had been changed since1644AD. He made achievements untilhis old age by his own efforts. Gong Dingzi’s works were quite abundant, in which theCi-poetry was highly respected in the Qing Dynasty.The second part is the content of his Ci-poetry, which consists of three aspects:expressions feelings, responses to others, the stirring emotion seeing nature andrecollecting the history to reflect on old time. Be arranged to display the various imagesof his Ci-poetry and achieve the overall understanding and holding.The third part is the studies of the style transformation and creation psychology ofGong Dingzi. Review his works, the style of his Ci-poetry generally change fromgorgeous bright-colored to broad-minded and desolation, finally become bold gloomywith his complicated and rough life experience. Gong Dingzi not only himself joinedthe creation, also found a lot of Ci rookie and supported their creative activities, traininga number of outstanding heritage.The fourth part divide the position of Gong Dingzi’s Ci-poetry into undertakeYunjian Ci and open Yangxian Ci. It combines a variety of elements of the mood of thetimes, reflects the complexity atmosphere in the particular era, as well as the evolutionof Ci during the Ming and Qing dynasty.The remaining conclusion points out Gong Dingzi, who as the renegade scholar, has obtained the higher prestige and his Ci also can occupy a place in the Ci’s boundarythat can’t be easily annihilated at that time. Gong Dingzi who has the complexexperience during the late Ming and early Qing dynasty, has special status andcontribution in the history of literature. Moreover the author points out Gong Dingzi, asa figure with complex experience, who is taken as the research object, still has verygreat openness and the extensibility for further studies.
