The Research On Christian House Meetings Around Colleges In Changsha

Christianity is spreading much faster in China since21st century. The scale of the church and the number of its believer are incredibly increasing, especially the preach spots and get-together meetings around colleges, in which Christian believers taking part in related religious activities and religious investigators are changing from aged groups of low education to younger groups of high education rapidly. This paper choose the college communities taking part in Christian get-together meetings around the three colleges in Changsha the research object, and experience their religious life by personally joining in many religious activities of several underground churches and having face-to-face talks with the college Christians in the past three years. There are6Christian family get-together preach spots, all of which are not on the list of "TSPM&CCC". They are not admitted by government, nor do they apply or register from related f-unctional department. They only belong to "gray market" which is neither legal nor illegal. This paper first expatiates on the fundamental state of activities around colleges, and then analyzes the reason of its high-speed development, pointing out the existing problems and hidden troubles. It further exposes true colors of house meeting, which is actually house church, and ponders its religious basis, the historical origin of Chinese house meeting, and the identification of the status of it. In the end, this paper states in terms of Professor Yang fen gang’s-Christian "three markets" theory and indicates that the Christian house meeting around colleges probably turn into religious "black market". In order to better maintain national safety and social stability, secure life and property of the people, advance the salubrious development of the cause of Christianity in China, and eliminate the problem and hidden trouble of house church or house meeting, the "gray market" this paper suggests government and related functional department proactively turn Christian "gray market" into "red market", nail down the position of house meeting in the law, and set up and perfect correlative laws and rules strictly supervised by functional department, satisfying faith needs of the mass and enhancing administration at the same time.
