Shi Pingmei was a famous female writer in Beijing in1920s, she was forgotten in the Modern Chinese Literature because of her early death and other causes.Even if occasionally she was known, she was also the backdrop of Gao Junyu. Into the1980s, the research about Shi Pingmei increased gradually and achieved significant results in many aspects. This thesis was based on the previous research and systematically discusses the individual consciousness and mould. In addition to the introduction and conclusion, the thesis was divided into three chapters. The preface briefly introduced Shi Pingmei’s lifetime, reviewed study history of Shi Pingmei, summarized the content and the lack of research and illuminated the subject of the article. Basing on the intensive reading of her creation, Chapterl analyzed the image as a father, I thought Shi Pingmei’s loving father image was a strong complement to the description of ugly fathers since May Fourth.It had higher significance in Chinese literary history.Chapter2principally elaborated the mould of the abandoned wives image interrogated and doubted free love. The female fate was her focus of attention, abandoned wives demonstrated her special attention and reflected her difference and consciousness. On this basis, Shi Pingmei thought and explored the women’s wayout, combined the change of women themselves and requirements of the social change, this reflected her mature thought.Chapter3discussed and analyzed the significance of life and the value of death, on the basis of concerning about the real life,Shi Pingmei promoted the meaning of life on metaphysical philosophical level, she pondered and explored the human’s universal survival status as well as the value of life and death.Shi Pingmei gave death new meaning, this is great negation and refusal to the traditional death concept.Though her thoughts about the value of life can not help with pessimistic color, she did not reject life, but struggled with life after finding the absurdity and nothingness. Theconclusion briefly gave a comprehensive evaluation to Shi Pingmei.
