Effects Of Sino-Japanese Homographs To Japanese Learners Whose Mother Tongue Is Chinese

China and Japan are neighbors of the narrow strip of water. They have a long history of friendly exchanges. These two countries both belong to Chinese characters circle. In the process of using these two languages, mutual borrowing and influence inevitably exists. That’s the reason why there are a large number of homographs in Sino-Japanese vocabulary. The existence of these homographs is a problem which can not be avoided to the Japanese learners whose mother tongue is Chinese. Due to the interference of mother tongue in learning Japanese, part of the homographs brings a variety of negative effects and causes misuse.In order to find the reason why Sino-Japanese homographs influence learners’proper use of target language, this paper, based on Sino-Japanese homographs, using methods of social linguistics investigation, does error analysis to misuse of Japanese learners whose mother tongue is Chinese while learning.This paper, based on the studies before, firstly shows detail instructions of concept and classification of homographs. Secondly, by the methods of questionnaire survey, the use of homographs in Japanese learners whose mother tongue is Chinese is investigated and analyzed through the data. Compared with the typical cases, the paper tries to find out the Various stages of learners’misuse and misuse rate of various types of homographs, and then does example analysis to high misuse questions. Finally, through the former research to discuss the effects of homographs, the paper tries to find out the influence and detail sources of negative effects to the Japanese learners whose mother tongue is Chinese.
