Tillie Olsen is a left-wing writer of America.It is infrequent that she won a place in Americaliterary circles relied on just a few works.Olsen created her novelella Yonnondio:From theThirties,which titled with Whitman’s poetry Yonnondio.The fiction not only condensed thethemes of that era——class contradictions in the Great Depression,but also contained richconnotations of the Left-wing women novel.Therefore, it was known as the best novel of theproletariat culture movement in1930s.This thesis mainly based on the text reading,from multiplesocial and cultural identity of Tillie Olsen to start,and combined with language paradigm of herWritten.By doing this,to lead the novella into the lnteraction between literature and history.The thesis was divided into four parts:First mainly Combined with Olsen’lifetime and creative way to discuss the cause ofYonnondio,and given a brief summary on the domestic and international research.Second mainly cuted from the poerty of Whitman’s Yonnondio, through this to look for theinheritance thoughts between Whitman and Olsen. I placed Olsen into1930s’ background toexplore the literary creation under her multiple cultural indentity,analysed Yonnondio and theunique ideolgical content,which is driven by proletarian literature and Left-wing literary trend ofwomen.Third,this thesis tried to interpretes Yonnondio in a dialogic theory of Bakhtin.Olsen haswon a wide appraisal because of her strange narrative language,and also make Yonnondiodifferent from contemporaniety writers,such as Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath and MaryMcCarthy’s The Group. According to the narrative theory of Bakhtin, the author wanted to revealthe unique artistic of the novella,which from the Large-scale dialogue on the theme,Sound of theMinistry of novella and Awareness of the micro-dialogue to analyze.The fourth part is the conclusion.This thesis followed a main line by works as its key andworld,writers.readers as the composition of the four elements of the novella,to annotated thedialogic in the thoughts and art level.It is important to explain the distinctive contribution whichOlsen had done for the Left-wing women literature in Anmerica.
