First,with the liberation of the Art of diversity and people’s thinking, a number of thelatter half of the19th century academic paintings began to be recognized and loved, butreprimanded and blank the face of art history, people lack the most basic understanding of infront of the painting to show a kind of confused. Secondly, the School of painting of thisperiod occurred mainly in Britain and France, the United Kingdom due to ethnic andhistorical particularity of its School of painting more features and value and significance ofthe study. I hope to givethis history a new understanding and evaluation.In the research process, primarily through iconography, literature and comparativestudies, divided into three sections to the advancement of research of the problem. The firstchapter starts from the literature study on the basis of a systematic exposition of the UK halfof the characteristics of the times, and suggests the inevitability and necessity of academicpainting to achieve prosperity, but also the painter of Leighton and the Alma-Tadema tworepresentative a brief description.
