A Comparative Analysis On Chinese And Western Internet Nicknames

Nickname is a kind of special language phenomenon which revealed the languageculture condition and developing trend. Many linguists attach great attention to this particularlinguistic phenomenon. This article analyzed the previous research results and tried to explorea comprehensive comparative analysis. It attempted to explain the nicknames of China andWestern countries. Different culture leads to different forms of network names. Chinesenickname appeared to be diverse and intuitive, whereas Western nickname single and obscure.Different language forms bring different language features. This article analyzes thesociological characteristics of Chinese and Western network names systematically, thencompare and sum up the same and different socio-cultural psychology. The samesocio-cultural psychology includes beautiful, unconventional and hidden. Explore theinfluence on Chinese and Western nickname that caused by gender, age, education degree,culture factors from the perspective of sociolinguistics. The results showed that people fromdifferent countries, different nationalities, different groups, different level, different educationcondition and different language structure tends to use different forms of nickname which isthe focus and innovation of this research.
