| Chinese ink and wash painting was the main painting technique and has once achieved brilliant results, thus occupying an extremely important position in the developmental annals of the arts in China. However, with the fast pace of the globalization process, the traditional ink painting gradually lost its survival human environment and once was unable to express modern people’s spiritual insights and aesthetical pursuit.Two contributing factors lead to the loss of its importance. On the one hand, the western developed countries’lifestyle and cultural thoughts have had great impact on China’s traditional culture. On the other, traditional ink painting technique keeps on the beaten track and can’t reflect the modern people’s spiritual pursuit and aesthetic fashion. In order to comply with internal and external contextual changes, Modern ink painting came into being, re-seeking the right to speak of the ink in the modern context, to achieve the spirit of traditional ink replacement.The development of modern ink painting is not only the requirements of the times, but also a historical necessity. Modern Ink Painting as a language of form, their specific application process also reflects the artist’s subjective perception of objective things state, the differences in individual perception of status constitutes a subjective pluralism characteristic of modern ink painting, which manythe new school of art, showing the development of a wide range of characteristics. At present, the developmental trend of modern ink painting in China is that painters should weaken the ink and at the same time maximize the characteristics of ink. Also, they should break, deconstruction and reorganization the traditional ink painting in its program, technique and way of expression so that it can have more room for development and greater flexibility.To fully reflect the course of development of the modern ink painting in China and understand the status as well as significance of the multi-ink development in the contemporary context may get our ideological level raised and aesthetic ideas purified. This paper focuses on the dialectical relationship of Chinese Painting "Qi" and "Dao" from the research perspective, discusses and analyzes the phenomenon of the conversion of Chinese ink painting language. In research methodology, the author mainly adopts the literature study review to probe into its variety of genres, media and performance contents of modern ink painting, through which the diversity of ink painting is illustrated in the contemporary context. This article is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is an introduction to the background and significance of the study. In the second chapter the author strengthens out the history of the development of Chinese traditional ink painting and hence gains a clearer understanding of modern ink status. That is, modern ink and traditional ink are of the same strain, which is the logical starting point of this article. Chapter Ⅲ analyzes the origins of modern ink and paves the way to further explain the diversity of modern ink. Chapter Ⅳ makes a detailed analysis of the diversity of modern ink painting from the angle of its performance contents, media, techniques and the like, by reference to the works of a large number of painters as an example. Finally, by combining the author’s own painting practice, she conveys a further understanding about the modern ink painting.Going through the exploration of the art of modern ink painting, ink painting from the Chinese culture, origin starting to dig the traditional tools of ink performance, from the world’s colorful vocabulary of art to find the resonance point, and build the ink works with Chinese characteristics, the establishment ofown Ink language image, the survival of modern culture and the aesthetic taste of a new expression, the meaning is very significant. |
