In music teaching, students’comprehensive quality and practical ability have been gaining more and more weight. Solfeggio and ear training is a foundation course in musical education, and its ability always gets involved in various musical activities. Besides theoretical knowledge and skills, we should also attach importance to students’comprehensive abilities of musical theories, aural ability and musical expression, to the development of students’comprehensive quality and practical ability, and to leading students in putting their knowledge into real musical activities.Self-playing and self-singing, a practical and comprehensive ability, combines playing and singing organically and integrates harmony, musical form, vocal music and piano accompaniment. Self-playing and self-singing training can not only improve students’learning effects, enhance the practicability of music learning, and also put students’music knowledge and skills into practice and cultivate practical ability of music. As a basic quality requirement for primary and middle school teachers, self-playing and self-singing training should go through all the specialized courses.To attach importance to students’cultivation of self-playing and self-singing in solfeggio and ear training teaching can not only improve students’aural and multi-phonic thinking ability, but also help students’ understanding and mastery of the functions and significance of musical elements and general laws of musical expression through playing and singing, thus enhancing their understanding of musical works and more accurate musical expression. Playing and singing put students’aural and sight-singing abilities into practice, through which students’aesthetic ability and practical ability gain gradual improvements. Self-playing and self-singing in solfeggio and ear training covers self-playing and self-singing not only with accompaniment but also in multi-phonic sight-singing training. The thesis is to conduct a research from the two aspects. It analyzes and summarizes the methods of self-playing and self-singing training, expounds in detail how to artistically deal with and express musical works in the process of playing and singing according to their respective features and requirements. Some suggestions are raised concerning the cultivation of self-playing and self-singing ability. The author hopes that the current thesis may help students learn solfeggio and ear training better, and provide beneficial reference for solfeggio and ear training teaching.
