And the liberation of mind is premise of making social progress.The theme mentioned above is manifested in the Shuo Chang Ju by choosing the corrupt customs of wrapping feet. It is because the confidence given by the epoch that the creator have the courage to make changes on the theme which has never been touched, and give the theme of wrapping feet very impressive metaphors. In this way the creator has endowed the theme with the meaning of life and the value of the times. One plot in the work goes that a storyteller said in the prologue that why talking about the habit of wrapping feet which have been abolished long ago? It is true that there is no wrapping feet now, but there might be the wrapped feet in someone’s heart. However a small angle of view it may be, it is also a topic worth reflecting.Shuo Chang Ju is a creation both academic and artistic, which has never been seen in the history of Shuo Chang Ju "Liberation", as the first one in China, has made breakthrough out of the firmed form of opera, dancing drama, traditional opera spoken drama and musicals. And it melts various kinds of artistic expressions, native culture of Shanxi and the multi-media together. So that this work bares the soul-stirring visual impact and artistic appeal. And in the year2011, the work won the Prize of national artistic stage. From the big hit in Grand National Theatre till the end of2011the work has traveled60000km through19provinces,52cities, putting on their performances for270times. Indeed they had achieved a great success, meanwhile it aroused big interest of me. The songs in the work, which are full of the characteristics of the Shanxi folk songs, are performed with special singing styles and skills. All this moved me deeply, and as a result an idea come to my mind that I should research on the songs in the work, and this can also help me accumulate experiences on singing folk songs.Shanxi is a place where folk music grows, and the folk music is also the unique cultural resources in Shanxi. The composer Mr. Zhang Qianyi chose a lot original ecology music as the basic form, and according to the scenario, he has made re-explanations. Meanwhile the composer also put the Shanxi traditional Pu Opera into consideration, which gave the traditional opera new meanings, and put the plot into combination of different kinds of music with superrealism, which really touches people and gives a brand new birth to the historic original ecology music. Considering all these factors, in the Shuo Chang Ju, ballad-singing play the role of being the skeleton, which create smooth relationships among the plot, the characters, and the art forms such as Shanqu, Xiaodiao, Yangge and opera. And so it bares a strong artistic feeling.This article is divided into three chapters:Chapter1The Inheritance of Shanxi folk songs in "Liberation". This chapter mainly focus on the summary of Shanxi folk songs used in "Liberation" from aspect of different regions, different forms and different themes. In this way we draw a complete summary of the "inheritance".Chapter2The innovation made by "Liberation" in Shanxi folk songs. This chapter will lead us to find out high points of the work by analyzing the innovation made by the composer and two brand new folk songs:"Poor Girl" and "Crying grandmother". And in last part of this chapter, how some traditional Shanxi folk songs are applied in "Liberation" successfully, and finally given new meaning and vitality to, and the inner relations between the work and the traditional Shanxi folk songs will be analyzed.Chapter3The artistic traits of Shanxi folk songs in "Liberation". This chapter will firstly make an exploration of the dialect, reiterative locutions and extra words used in "Liberation" to try to explain why this work is full of local traits. Then will research into the great success of singing in the work through the specific research on the singing skills of the actors. |
