In the research of Chinese contemporary literature, Beicun has always been regarded as a pioneer writer, or a transformed pioneer writer. The Academic research about him has been focusing on discussing his originality, discussing the reason of his transformation, as well as the relationship between his works and Christianity. Among all of the available research, the emphasis is on his early period works, but not enough attention and study has been on the long later period after he became a Christian. Considering it has been20years since Beicun became a Christian writer, his work style has gradually become stable, so we think it is a good time to talk about his work as a Christian writer. Therefore, in this article we identify Beicun as a Christian writer, no longer emphasizing him and his works in his pioneer period. Instead, we focus on the time after he became a Christian. Based on Christianity Theory, we try to appreciate his works by literature and faith, discussing his value as a Christian writer, as well as the gains and losses of his creation. In the introduction, we comb his works from the time he started writing until now, summarizing the research about him in different periods, and bringing out our research direction, the research meaning and innovation of this thesis, based on the current situation. In the first chapter, we try to identify Beicun. He started writing as a pioneer writer, then transformed. After that, his reputation as a spiritual pioneer is attributed to his concern about the essence of human existence and independent writing, which is a benefit from his writing attitude after he became a Christian. So the emphasis of this chapter is Beicun’s Christian writer identity, talking about his Christian belief, the combination of his works with Christianity, and clarifying his Christian writer identity by his faithful writing. In the second chapter, we try to analyze his works. When he became a Christian, he had a different understanding about life and showed all these in his literature creation, that’s why his works carried Christianity doctrines and ideas. We are going to interpret his novels based on the three topics:sin, love and salvation, combine text interpretation with Christianity doctrines, reveal the gospel in his works, and show his Christian writing. In the third chapter, we try to evaluate the gains and losses in his creation. On the one hand, the meaning of his creation can not be ignored because of his unique topics. He not only offered a possibility of knowing salvation for the Chinese and a call for faithful spirit, but also did a great job of connecting western and Chinese literature with his works in literature history; on the other hand, as the first most influential Christian writer and one that blazes a trail, it’s hard for him to avoid errors and limitations, which are most reflected on his modeled creation and acceptable barriers. The conclusion part of this thesis is a summary, as well as prospect, hopefully Beicun could have more excellent works, and more and more Christian writers with sense of mission will show up in China, devoting to rebuild the Garden of Eden of literature with Beicun.
