With the constant warming-up of global "Chinese Heat", there are more and more foreigners who start to learn Chinese. So it becomes especially important to research on studying Chinese as a second language. But so far, most of the researches on studying a second language are about English. Researches on studying Chinese as a second language are relatively few. As micro learning strategies are concerned, researches on learning strategies of spoken Chinese is even less. During my two years of Chinese teaching in Thailand, I collected some direct materials conveniently so that I can make research on the learning strategies that Thai students use when they learn spoken Chinese. Present conditions of spoken Chinese teaching in Thailand are introduced in this article and problems of the students in learning oral Chinese are listed. Then I find out the strategies that they use most often and where they need to improve so as to help them study Chinese better. So far, I have not found any research focusing on the spoken Chinese learning strategies of Thai students. I wish that this research will help them improve their studying methods of spoken Chinese, raise their learning efficiency and further develop their spoken Chinese level.Several kinds of definitions and classification methods of learning strategy as well as its impact factors are introduced in this thesis. Oral learning strategies and measuring methods of a second language are also introduced. Questionnaire method and interview method are emphasized. During the introduction of questionnaire method, learning strategy scale is presented in details. This scale includes listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. I decide the appropriate learning strategies of spoken Chinese and further research into special learning strategies of spoken Chinese.Questionnaires are used in this research and SPSS software is used to analyze the statistics got in the survey. The using conditions of learning strategies that Thai students use when learning spoken Chinese and the relationship between the strategies and learning effects are discussed.Now there are many thesis on the study strategies of learning Chinese as a second language, but that on spoken Chinese learning strategy is much fewer. This thesis study the spoken Chinese learning strategy of Thai students, which will help them improve their learning methods and raise their learning efficiency. That will be an innovation.The result of this research indicates that Thai students use compensation strategy most often when they learn spoken Chinese, the second is recognition strategy and the third are social strategy and memory strategy. The strategies that are used least often are emotion strategy and meta-recognition strategy. Grades do not affect the general use of learning strategy and sex does not affect either the general use or the specific use of learning strategy. High score learners use compensation strategy more often than low score learners when Thai students learn spoken Chinese. The emotion strategy they use is negative related with acquisition effect. The general strategies and other strategies do not influence acquisition effect.At last, I give some suggestions for Thai students to learn spoken Chinese according to the analysis of the research result.
