As one of the most famous female writers after Woolf, Doris Lessing won the Nobel Prize for Literature in2007. Determined by her unique life experience, Doris Lessing’s work is full of strong literal sense of mission and feminist consciousness. The Golden Notebook, Doris Lessing’s masterpiece, cogitated the exploration way of the free women through the description of the free life pursuing and the hard condition encountered of the free female the representative Anna.The exploration way of the free women described in The Golden Notebook, related to Doris Lessing’s unique life experience and her Feminism ideology. Doris Lessing has lived in Africa for30years, done all kinds of works, experienced two huge life moves, failed in marriage twice and edified by the two World Wars, English literature and the authors of Soviet Union and Russia, Which influenced her deeply. Doris Lessing concerned not only the living condition of the female but also she mixed our familiar female theme with the era theme so that the Feminism perspective became broad and profound.In The Golden Notebook, Doris Lessing mainly described both the free female’s living condition and diploma, and she also depicted their anguish and confusion in their heart. The protagonist Anna not only suffered from the severe attack in the political ideals, but also the love affair, even she was tortured by sexual harassment of different male. However, after suffered from these, the free women began to think about their lives and confirmed their female existence. Free women realized it is not the guarantee to achieve the free life they want by giving up their family and marriage. Finally, Doris Lessing showed the free women a road with bright future that is both man and women should construct the new model of Gender Harmony positively.
