On The Interaction Between The Social Thought Transformation And The Loanword Introduction After The First Sino-Japanese War

The progress of the society and the trade and cultural between nations all promote the absorption of new words between cultures, which represent new things and concepts. In the Chinese language environment, there have already been lots of loanwords, which are closely related to people’s daily life. And the researches on Chinese loanwords were done at the beginning of the last century. Through over one hundred years, the researches have been mature, and the research scope has been increasingly perfect, ranging from the definition, category, source analysis, collection to the standardization of loanwords, although researches on certain fields are still weak. With the introduction of new things and concepts, the loanword introduction will inevitably bring about changes to the social thought more or less, but so far only a few researches on the related fields have been carried out.The First Sino-Japanese War was an event of great significance in the Chinese history, which brought about tremendous impact on the contemporary social thought. And it is noteworthy that the loanword introduction reached its second high tide during this period of history, and besides a high tide of the introduction of graphic loanwords from Japanese took place after the war. The author tries to explore the internal relations between the First Sino-Japanese War and the second high tide of the loanword introduction, and the internal reasons why high tide of the introduction of graphic loanwords from Japanese took place after the war. This thesis takes the contemporary social thought state and the loanword introduction as the research objects, first discusses the social thought transformation after the war based on the analysis of the historical literature materials before and after the war, and then discusses the changes in the loanword introduction after the war based on the analysis of the collected loanwords, and then carries out the research on the interaction between the social thought transformation and the loanword introduction which is the innovation of this thesis, hoping to be of help to future researches on similar fields.
