He ShaoJi,another name is Zizhen,also known as Yuansou,who was a nativeof Daozhou, Hunan, has lived for75years. He was a famous calligraphy master inQjng Dynasty, his skills in calligraphy was evenly distributed in four forms of seal、Lishu、regular and running characters. Furthermore", wrist-hooking" writingtechnique uniquely presented his innovation in calligraphy.He was born in a scholarly family. He started his study early in his life and was adiligent writer for calligraphy throughout his life. Later; he focused mainly on themastering of Bafen. He copied almost all the monument tablets that were written inHan Dynasty, especially Li-Qi and Zhang-Qian tablets which He had copied overhundred times. After his mastery, he had formed his own writing style. Theresearcher believes that He’s professional writing skills was best presented in Lishu,therefore, the main purpose of this study would be on his achievement in thedomain of Lishu. The researcher has spent significant amount of time to trace hislearning processes in mastery calligraphy skills. As a result, the researcher haslearned that ancient masters shared some characters for being outstanding in theirfields. First of all, they all had wide range of exploration to various domains, secondly,they were diligent and put in much efforts before they became a well recognized andrespected masters.Through literature review, the researcher organized He’s Lishu works, anddisplayed in the order of copied writing, poetic couplets, and so on accordingly.Moreover, the researcher also studied He’s works and gives comparisons in hiswriting style and creations in different stages of his life.
