Tiger DaFu of Ye Guangqin and Memory of Wolf of Jia Ping’ao all reflect the ecological predicament in foothills region of Qinling. Ye Guangqin reveals the endangered condition of wildlife faced by human hunting through a series of short novels. Jia Ping’ao’s novel represents the impact of unbalanced ecosystem on human by describing the complex relationships between human and wolf. As one of the important cradle of Chinese civilization, the ecological crisis of this region can be seen as a microcosm of the entire ecological changes. The ecological predicament shown in the two authors’ novels also have an effect on ecological warning. It indicates that the ecological crisis are not only destroying our survival root, but also shaken the foundation of our culture. we will be facing the dual losses of the natural and spiritual home. I believe that the novels of the authors all contain abundant ecological ethic ideas. The ethical concern object all extend to animals and they all affirm the animal’s right to exist and point out that the reason of the ecological redicament should be attributed to the clear up of the mystery of nature, the abuse of the technology and the expansion of human’s appetency.In this dissertation, the theories of ecological literature and ecological ethics are used to dissuss the causes of the reality conflict between human and the wolf and how to get along with each other. The ecological idea of the two novels are also analysised. The main contents are as follows:The theories of ecological literature and ecological ethics are introduced in the first chapter. In the second chapter, the ecological idea of Tiger DaFu is analysed. Ye Guangqin breaks through the limit of the human centrism mind and extend the the ethical care to the animals. The solemn and noble of the animal life are shown by strengthening relationship between the human and animal. The author proposes the awe, respect and tolerance ethical principles. The ecological idea of Memory of Wolf is analysed in the third chapter, the interdependence of ecological relation between man and wolf affirms the right and the significance of the wolf. As the competitors of human, the wolf is a threat for the survival of the human, but on the other hand, it can prevents the degradation and alienation of human’s ethnic ecological functions. The reflection on the ecological crisis of Ye Guangqin and Jia Ping’ao are discussed in the fourth chapter. They believe that the reasons of the ecological crisis are the clear up of the mystery of nature, the abuse of the technology and the expansion of human’s appetency. The clear up of the mystery of nature brings on the loss of natural awe, the abuse of science and technology improves the ability to control natural and the expansion of human’s appetency lends to the excessive obtain from natural.
