Children’s Painting And Its Enlightenment Upon Contemporary Artistic Creation

Children painting is a pictorial language which reflects children’s psychology and acts as a window showing their heart and soul. Due to its natural beauty of naivety and simplicity Children painting wins people’s heart greatly. Children’s painting has always been favored and praised by many great artists for its creativity, uniqueness and form of expression, which is unmatched by adult artist. What on earth is the characteristics of children’s drawings? What is the value of children painting? What is the essence of modern art childlike? How to draw nourishment from the children’s painting? What are enlightenments and instructions of children’s paintings on contemporary Chinese painting? These issues are worthy of our in-depth thinking and further research.The topic of this thesis is based on its author’s teaching experience about children’s painting, inspired by the striking similarity between children’s drawings and master’s paintings. This thesis consists of five parts. Part I:Combining with analysis of children’s paintings, described the characteristics and language of children’s drawings. Part II:Making an overview of development of children’s paintings at different stages by domestic and foreign scholars, analyzing children’s painting stage of development with examples. Part III:Discussing the artistic creation of children and the value children painting. Part IV:Citing the common phenomena of chlidlike painting owned by domestic and international artists; making an analysis of the similarity of art masters and children in the form of painting methods; and illustrating how childlike painting come into being and its essence. Part Ⅴ:Probing into the origin of art imbued by children painting and its enlightenment upon contemporary painting.This thesis intends to help us better understand and learn from children’s paintings, deepen understanding of the nature of painting and provide some useful guidance and suggestions for the development of contemporary painting.
