First, the writer makes a summary of the gist ofDeconstructionism; then the chosen stories are analyzed according to “text analyzing”method from deconstructive perspective; in the end a conclusion is made: there areunities between Deconstructionism and Coover’s short stories in both theme andform.Research concerning Coover and his works is not scarce abroad, yet most of itfocuses on Coover’s fictions and in most cases Coover is considered merely as one ofthe postmodern writers; there are fewer critics who notice the unique features withinCoover’s works, which are beyond the reach of other postmodern writers, such as theapplication of visual arts elements in written works; and even fewer critics appreciatehis works from deconstructive perspective. This is the innovation part of the thesis. | Keywords/Search Tags: | Robert Coover, Deconstructionism, short stories, postmodern | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
