Charles William Morris is one of the important in the mid-20th century, therepresentative of American pragmatism. He combined pragmatism and logicalpositivism which were popular in the United States in the20th century, to developinto a theory of "scientific empiricism". And inherited Peirce semiotics, and GeorgeMead’s social behaviorism, combined to form his own signs theory. In his later years,Morris worked on attaching the sign study to the value of university cooperation onthe basis of his sign theory; further improve his sign theory Discipline System.
