| Shadow is a traditional Chinese folk art form which contains a variety of other forms of art elements. Shadow is one kind of folk culture and have profound historical and cultural accumulation. shadow is an anthropomorphic special genre relating to China-Peking Opera deeply and widely. Shadow play has moved away from its farming angular arguments age and persist in their own aesthetic value and design awareness in the era of high technology. According to historical records, shadow art has already appeared in palace as early as in the Han Dynasty and Tang Dynasty. It is stated that professional Shadowgraph artists have been existed since Northern Song Dynasty, Liaoning province. Shadowgraph keeps advancement. Lingyuan shadow play is representative of the art of shadow play in the west Laioning and even the Liaoning province.Lingyuan locates in juncture of Liaoning Province, Hebei province and Mongolia provinces. Several racials such as Han, Mongolian, Hui, Korean live together. The so-called Lingyuan shadow is the main genre in the Lingyuan region. This article studied the Lingyuan shadow research through the use of field investigation, data query method. Through the traditional folklore methods of comparison and analysis by synthesis method, the Lingyuan shadow value, artistic characteristics, performance characteristics and other aspects of is presented. Lingyuan shadow of the status and views and attitudes of development and research and protection of this traditional art form were stated and analyzed.
