Han Shaogong is a very important writer in contemporary literature history. My paper focuses on the prose of Han Shaogong. It is made up of three chapters. It discusses the major prose works of Han Shaogong from the1980s, trying to examine the ideological content of the Han Shaogong’s prose writing from the whole.The first chapter is cultural renaissance in the1980s. This chapter contains prose philosophical temperament and cultural enlightenment. The Han Shaogong’s prose was formed and developed in the early1980s, which continued to reflect on history and reality and thought internal problems of literature. He is objective, practical, dialectical sticking to the pursuit of truth, and thus his prose forms unique philosophical quality. In the late1980s, the new era, Han Shaogong first proposed the "roots" in the literary or culture. Following the tide of history, he was eager to explore a way out in literature and culture with roots awareness and consciousness of the world.The second chapter is the social criticism in the1990s. This chapter has three parts, the voice of the soul, rational criticism of the market ideology, nationalism in the era of globalization. The stage was the transformation of Chinese society. Han Shaogong’s prose matured at the same time. In the new situation, how to look at China and the West and how to consider the market ideologies are his great concerns. The wave of globalization has a great impact on Chinese society and ideology. Economic development not only changes the tragic fate of Chinese, but also causes people’s crisis of faith. His prose, loyal to the facts, fiercely criticizes social ills. He defends human dignity and noble quality with the voice of the soul.The third chapter is about the humane care in the21st century. This chapter expresses human care. Han Shaogong’s love for prose increase in the new century.His rural life makes contributions to the collection of essays,"shannanshuibei". The local bits and pieces of the rural world once again come into the writer’s vision. Han Shaogong perceives the rural and urban, environment and ecology in the comparison and directly shows the deep emotional feelings of humane care.
