A Commentary Biography On Liu Zongqin

Henan Zhuizi is a folk art that has a great impact on the local music genres and spreads cross the country in20th century. Winning the Lifetime Achievement Award for "Chinese Opera Peony Award" in2006has proved that Liu Zongqin, a performing artist, is an important historical figure in the history of Henan Zhuizi. She does not only perform, but also organizes relative activities and contributes to the teaching and inheritance of Henan Zhuizi. Compare to the other artists of the same period, she is more experienced and comprehensive, and has a greater impact on the development of Henan Zhuizi. The ups and downs of her life with the turmoil of social development have made her personal experience and artistic characteristics more distinctive and representable, this article will study Liu Zongqin’s life story and write a biography for her with author’s comments.Based on author’s own understanding of the history and art of Henan Zhuizi, Liu Zongqin’s art works and interviews with her, the author carries out the research and writing of this paper with the science of history, literature, oral history, folk art Chronicles and folk art criticism.This paper is divided into three chapters. Chapter One is focused on Liu Zongqin’s family background, marital status and her master-apprentice relationship. Chapter Two is the presentation of Liu Zongqin’s art road. Chapter Three is the main emphasis of this article. Through a brief analyzing of her typical short play Li Kui Seize the Fish and long play Yang Warriors, and the comparison with the other two representative performing artists of Henan Zhuizi, the article has observed and summarized the unique artistic style and characteristics owned by Liu Zongqin’s performance. By elaborating its significance and impact, this article elucidated Liu Zongqin’s main contributes to Henan Zhuizi, including many other contributes on cultural inheritance and development. Through study Liu Zongqin’s case, the author tries to provide some thoughts, help, reference and inspiration on the heritage and development of Henan Zhuizi.In the end, the author provides the Chronology of Liu Zongqin’s artistic activities, the list of audio and video programs of Liu Zongqin’s Henan Zhuizi performance, the list of the studies on Liu Zongqin and her performance, and the election of Liu Zongqin’s representative aria and scores of Henan Zhuizi. With these lists, the author not only gains an overall understanding of Liu Zongqin and her performance, but also gives subsequent researchers a relatively convenient data base and route guidance.
